Western Power Distribution revises charging proposals
Western Power Distribution, the company that operates the electricity distribution network in South Wales and South West England, today revised its proposals to modify the way it calculates charges for use of its network. This comes against the backdrop of an industry-wide push, backed by Ofgem, to introduce a common methodology for setting use of system charges across Great Britain by April 2011.
Western Power Distribution's new proposal follows publication of a report by Frontier Economics, commissioned by Centrica, that highlighted several deficiencies in the changes that it had previously proposed. Frontier's report has now been published on Ofgem's website.
