UK Office of Fair Trading reviews extended warranties order

Today, the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) announced its review of the "Supply of Extended Warranties on Domestic Electrical Goods Order 2005".  The purpose of the review is to evaluate the impact of the OFT's activities.  The Order was implemented following the completion of a UK Competition Commission (CC) investigation in 2003.  On the basis of its investigation, the CC recommended that measures be put in place to ensure that consumers know the prices of extended warranties when they choose an electrical good and have more information upon which to make their choices.
