European Commission approves Greece's National Strategic Development plan
The European Commission has approved the National Strategic Development Plan of Greece, setting out the key priorities for investment in the next round of EU structural funding for the 2007-2013 period. Commissioner Hubner congratulated Greece in succeeding to be the first large country to have its plan approved, and for setting out a plan that is expected to move Greece towards increased competitiveness, through amongst other, the promotion of investment in knowledge, increased attractiveness of the country for investment and entrepreneurship. Frontier Economics advised the Ministry of Finance on the development of the NSDP, in a team comprising expert academic advisers from UCL, LSE and the Athens University of Economics and Business.
