Ofcom publishes responses to Openreach consultation
Ofcom has published responses to its second consultation on a new pricing framework for Openreach - the organisation created by BT to manage its access network on an arm's length basis. The purpose of the review is to determine whether there is a need to change the existing level and structure of charges for the regulated wholesale access services of Openreach, and consider the introduction of a forward looking price control framework for these services. These include wholesale line rental and local loop unbundling (LLU). Ofcom's second consultation set out Ofcom's proposals for the price controls and described its key assumptions including details of its financial and economic analysis.
