First NEREC Research Conference on electronic communications
The Network for Economic Research on Electronic Communications (NEREC) held its first Annual Conference on European Electronic Communications from 11-12 September 2009 in Madrid. The conference brought together leading economists from university, industry, consultancy and government to discuss recent developments in European regulation and policymaking in electronic communications.This included the draft European Commission recommendation on regulating access to next generation access networks.
The conference started with a discussion of NEREC's first annual report, "Monitoring European ICT's Regulation". The second part of the conference was devoted to the presentation and discussion of a series of papers selected by the NEREC Research Conference scientific committee.
José María Rodríguez and Juana Santamaría, from Frontier's Madrid office, presented a paper on "The Effects of ICT Investment on Productivity in Spain."
