BAA sells Gatwick Airport

BAA has agreed to sell Gatwick Airport to Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP) for £1.51bn.  Earlier this year the Competition Commission (CC) orded BAA to sell three airports: Gatwick, Stansted and either Glasgow or Edinburgh. In the context of the CC's investigation Frontier (Europe) was commissioned by easyJet, Virgin Atlantic and Tui Travel to assess the potential value of Gatwick airport. Using a regulatory methodology Frontier's report identified a range for the value of Gatwick Airport of £1.3bn to £1.7bn.
