Ofcom consults on recovering BT's pension costs from wholesale charges
Ofcom has published an initial consultation on the extent to which BT’s pension costs should be recoverable via the charges for regulated wholesale services. These services include the wholesale provision of broadband and telephone lines. This issue has become increasingly relevant as the size of BT's pension deficit payments has increased. Ofcom is seeking stakeholders' views on whether a change in the current approach could be justified and, if so, how the approach should change.
Frontier (Europe) is currently advising one of the parties involved.
