Nick Aked joins Frontier Economics
Nick Aked has joined Frontier (Europe) as a Senior Associate to expand its capabilities in the energy sector as well as in the design and implementation of electronic auctions across sectors.
Nick has over 20 years’ experience in economic consultancy, advising clients in the electricity and gas industries, including previous positions at IBM and PricewaterhouseCoopers Consulting.
He has wide experience of commercial, competition and regulatory issues in the energy sector from working on reform and liberalisation in the UK, Italy, France, Portugal and Germany. Most recently he led work on the design and implementation of virtual power plant and gas release programmes in Europe using electronic auctions. For the most part these programmes were the outcome of competition enquiries at the European or national level. His clients include E.ON, Gaz de France, Electrabel, Endesa and Iberdrola. At the international level, he has led power sector reform studies in Brazil, Indonesia and Colombia under World Bank supervision.
