George Adams and Lord Turnbull join Frontier Economics Board
Frontier Economics Ltd today announces the appointment of George Adams, CEO of the Kingfisher Trade Division, and Andrew Turnbull, former Cabinet Secretary and Permanent Secretary to the Treasury, as Non-Executive Directors, with effect from January 1st, 2006.

George Adams became Chief Executive of the Kingfisher Trade Division in 2005, having joined Kingfisher in 1992. He was Commercial Director at B&Q from 1998 to 2002 and Kingfisher Group Commercial Director from 2002 to 2005. George is Chairman of Screwfix Direct and Managing Director of Trade Depot. Before joining Kingfisher, he was a director of Management Horizons Europe, the specialist retail consultancy.
Andrew Turnbull was Cabinet Secretary and Head of the Home Civil Service from 2002 to 2005. He joined the Treasury as an economist in 1970, served at the IMF and in Downing Street, and became Permanent Secretary at the Department of Environment in 1994. In 1998-2002, he was Permanent Secretary to the Treasury. Under the rules on the acceptance of outside appointments by Crown servants, he applied for permission to take up this appointment. The Prime Minister, on the advice of the Advisory Committee on Business Appointments, approved the application subject to the automatic 3 months waiting period applicable at his level and the condition that, for 12 months from his last day of service, he should not be personally involved in lobbying UK Government Ministers or officials on behalf of the firm or its clients.
