European Commission examines EU railway finances
As part of its efforts to monitor the implementation of European Union (EU) railway legislation, the EC has commissioned a study of the finances of the railway undertakings in the EU to assess the extent in which they comply with current regulations on the separation of accounts. The study will quantify the amount of public financial support given to the railway sector, prepare best practice guidelines to implement the separation of accounts, and develop a methodology to detect cross-subsidies.
Frontier (Europe) is a member of the consortium undertaking the study.
