FSA appoints Sarah Hogg as senior advisor on governance authorisation

The UK’s Financial Services Authority (FSA) has announced the appointment of Baroness Hogg as one of five new senior advisors who will assist the regulator with its work on ensuring good governance in the financial sector. These advisors, who will take up their posts in January 2010, will contribute to panel interviews for influential positions in regulated financial institutions.

The FSA’s chief executive, Hector Sants, welcomed the appointment of these advisors, citing their extensive experience of acting on the boards of major companies and in senior policy positions.

Sarah is the non-executive chairman of Frontier Economics (Europe). She has wide-ranging experience of business, government and the media, having worked at the highest level in all three fields.
