Support to the telecommunications regulator in Bangladesh

Bangladesh is one of the earliest countries in the region to introduce private sector participation in the telecommunications sector, and has recently initiated a programme of reform, aiming to facilitate the increase in penetration of telecommunications and the further development of the sector. As part of the reform programme, an independent regulatory authority was established by the Government in 2002. A team led by Frontier is involved in the major 6-month project, advising the authority on issues related to licensing, interconnection rules and regulations and the design of regulatory procedures.
