Broadband markets and competition

George Houpis presented a paper to the 13th conference of the International Telecommunications Society, examining the key issues that need to be addressed in applying a margin squeeze test in broadband retail services. This has become a hot topic as the broadband retail offers of a number of European telecommunications operators are under investigation or review by the authorities. The paper presented the appropriate approach to resolve the practical issues raised by the application of a margin squeeze test and presented some results using Italian data.
