Regulation of Capacity Investment at Stansted Airport

A report commissioned by easyJet

The Civil Aviation Authority is currently consulting on the form of price regulation that should apply to Stansted Airport for the next five years. Frontier's report sets out a proposal designed to reduce the need for regulation at Stansted and increase the scope for competition within the airport by introducing new terminal operators so as to create competition between terminal facilities to provide services to airlines. The report analyses the practical steps needed to implement this proposal and demonstrates the feasibility of this option by drawing on evidence of competitive terminal provision around the world.
