Merger between Transocean and GlobalSantaFe completed

Today, the UK Office of Fair Trading (OFT) allowed the drilling rig merger between Transocean and GlobalSantaFe without reference to the UK Competition Commission.  The decision follows undertakings offered by Transocean which satisfied the OFT that any possible substantial lessening of competition would be mitigated.
