Dr Jens Perner

Jens joined Frontier's Cologne office in 2006 and has more than 10 years experience in the energy market. He has advised policy makers, regulators and industry on diverse aspects of energy regulation and energy markets along the value chain in continental Europe. Recently, Jens has advised investors in electricity generation from conventional and renewable energy resources as well as on the acquisition of gas assets. Furthermore, he was recently advising on issues regarding inventive regulation and grid access. Before joining Frontier, Jens was responsible for the strategic market analysis team of the corporate development division of RWE in Essen, Germany. While at RWE, Jens worked extensively on strategy development and energy market analyses including forecasting of electricity, gas, fuel and green certificate markets. Until 2002, Jens was with the Institute for Energy Economics (Energiewirtschaftliches Institut, EWI) at the University of Cologne. Jens holds a PhD in Economics from Cologne University.
