Brian Parmenter
Brian’s particular expertise is the use of multi-sectoral economic models for policy analysis and forecasting. He also has experience in the finance sector and with regulatory economics. He provides expert input to a range of Frontier projects that require quantitative analysis.
Brian brings to Frontier’s clients:
extensive experience as a model developer and user. He was one of the principal developers of the ORANI model of the Australian economy and has worked on numerous applications of such models to Australian policy issues. In addition, he has led economic-modelling projects in South Africa, Vietnam, China and Taiwan.
the ability to present the results of model-based studies in ways that are accessible to non-specialists.
Before joining Frontier, Brian had a long academic research career, most recently as Professor of Applied Economics and Deputy Director of the Centre of Policy Studies at Monash University. Brian is also Chairman of the Queensland Competition Authority.
