Asset and network management

Transmission and distribution networks constitute the backbone of the energy markets. Power plants, gas fields, LNG terminals, gas storage sites and gas converters are key assets that determine the development of competition at the wholesale and often also at the retail level.

  • Frontier has extensive experience in advising corporate and public sector clients on the management and regulation of assets:
  • Design of innovative regulation schemes for transmission and distribution networks;
  • Advice throughout regulatory proceedings (e.g. network price reviews) and applications for exemptions from regulations (e.g. for LNG terminals and interconnectors);
  • Valuation of power stations and plant portfolios, access rights to electricity and gas transmission, gas storage and energy distribution networks.
  • Management of assets including investment and divestment strategies, comparative efficiency analysis and the design of auctions for temporary capacity release.
