EC drops mobile international roaming Article 82 cases
The European Commission has announced that it will close the Article 82 competition proceedings against Vodafone UK, O2 UK, Vodafone Germany and T-Mobile Germany. These cases were concerned with the allegation that the mobile operators had set excessive wholesale international roaming charges in the UK and Germany respectively. The UK cases were initiated by the Commission in July 2004, and the German cases in February 2005. Frontier (Europe) advised Vodafone throughout the proceedings.
