OFT closes investigation into Yamaha

The UK Office of Fair Trading (OFT) has ended its investigation into a discount scheme operated by Yamaha in relation to its musical instrument dealers. The discount scheme was intended to create additional rewards for dealers making face-to-face rather than internet based sales. Following discussions with the OFT, Yamaha revised certain aspects of the scheme.The OFT subsequently closed the case. Frontier Economics advised Yamaha during the investigation.
