Including aviation in the European Union Emissions Trading Scheme (EU ETS)
Frontier today published an assessment of the economic issues relevant to including aviation in the EU ETS. It is timely as the European Commission is currently consulting on the issues. The report addresses the urgent need for a proper economic framework to be applied when assessing the relative merits of different options for designing the scheme. It also makes a number of recommendations in relation to the approach required by the Commission and the important principles that should drive the design of the scheme.
