Forecasting military labour supply

British armed forces are being used in a large number of situations and locations around the world. Central to future success will be the supply of suitably qualified and well motivated personnel. Frontier (London) has been appointed to forecast labour supply of 16 and 17 year olds to armed forces between now and 2011. This involves the development of an econometric model that helps policymakers understand the likelihood that people from different backgrounds will decide to apply to the armed forces.
