Competition Commission publishes its emerging thinking on domestic bulk LPG
The Competition Commission (CC) today published a paper outlining its emerging thinking in relation to the supply of domestic bulk LPG. While a firm view has not yet been reached, the CC has stated that the following areas give it particular concern about the likely effectiveness of competition: the possible difficulties associated with customers switching; the degree of market concentration; apparent differences in prices to different customers; and a lack of transparent information. The CC will continue to investigate these issues alongside the need to ensure safety in the supply of LPG and have offered suppliers a chance to respond.The CC's emerging thinking paper has been published on its website. Frontier (London) is advising Calor in conjunction with the domestic bulk LPG inquiry.
