European Commission issues draft Guidelines for non-horizontal mergers
The European Commission has launched a public consultation on draft Guidelines for the assessment of non-horizontal mergers. Non-horizontal mergers include both vertical mergers between companies who are active at different levels of the supply chain, and conglomerate mergers between companies who are active in separate but related markets. The non-horizontal Merger Guidelines will complement the existing Guidelines on horizontal mergers which deal with mergers of companies on the same markets.
