Competition Commission to look at extended warranties

The UK's Office of Fair Trading has asked the Competition Commission to investigate the market for extended warranties on domestic electrical goods. The inquiry, which will be chaired by Dr Derek Morris, is to be completed within 12 months. Kingfisher plc, owner of Comet, the second largest electrical goods retailer in the UK, has appointed Frontier (London) as economic advisor. Click here for details of the inquiry.
