Proposed content-sharing agreement between Foxtel-Optus (Australia)

Frontier (Melbourne) continues to support Foxtel its negotiations with the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission over the pay-TV content-sharing agreement that Foxtel is proposing with its principal competitior, Optus. Foxtel has offered the ACCC a series of undertakings which have been designed to meet concerns that the ACCC expressed about the proposed arrangement. In particular, the undertakings include provision for new entrants to be able to secure access to Foxtel's basic package. The ACCC is currently assessing submissions on the proposal from industry participants.
