Workshop On Benchmarking & Air Transport Liberalisation

Frontier (London) played host to a Workshop of the German Aviation Research Society on the topics of aviation liberalisation and airport benchmarking.
The workshop was attended by academics, industry experts and consultants from around Europe.

Topics covered included:

  • the effect of liberalisation on cross-border mergers and alliances;
  • the factors under-pinning development of the low cost carriers in Germany;
  • the financial impact of this growth on the airport sector;
  • detailed approaches to airport benchmarking; and
  • the relevance to airports of benchmarking experience in other sectors such as energy and water.

The Workshop was chaired by Dan Elliott, Director of Frontier's Transport Practice. The opening address was given by Prof. Ralph Turvey, an Associate at Frontier, while Cloda Jenkins a senior member of our team also spoke on the topic of benchmarking lessons from other sectors.
