Amar Breckenridge
Amar is a reformed macroeconomist, having begun his career managing fiscal policy and debt relief in East Africa. He found his way to his present vocation in applied microeconomics via five years as a trade policy economist at the World Trade Organisation. His experience in these three major areas of applied economics stands him in good stead to advise clients on the major public policy issues they face.
Issues Amar has advised on include climate change policy, the design of auctions for state owned assets, cost-benefit analyses, and the review of government programmes. Competition policy, particularly in relation to energy markets, is another important aspect of his work. Amar's recent clients include various power sector companies, state and national governments, and donor agencies.
