James Benjamin
James is an experienced economist and member of Frontier Economics’ energy practice. James has advised a range of clients in regard to public policy, regulation and energy market reforms. James has particular experience in electricity and gas retail pricing regulation, wholesale energy market reform particularly in the area of electricity transmission, matters pertaining to market structure and competition, and public policy issues.
James joined Frontier Economics from Queensland Government where he held a number of senior managerial positions including Director (Energy Policy, Industry and Markets). In this role he was responsible for advising on policy, regulatory and legislative issues concerning national energy market reforms and major infrastructure investments. Prior to this role, James worked as a spot trader with Stanwell Corporation Limited.
