Action plan for electricity market integration in North-West Europe
The Energy regulators, BNetzA, CREG, DTe, CRE and ILR which represent Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, France and Luxemburg respectively have today published an action plan for a stronger integration of the electricity market of the five countries. The plan adresses issues such as a more effecient design for the auctioning of cross border transmission capacity, intra-day trading of electricity and enhanced coordination for the estimation of available cross-border capacities.
This action plan follows a recent study by Frontier (Cologne and London), Consentec and IAEW into market coupling and more flexible arragements for capacity allocations to different borders in the region.
