NMa publishes draft decision regarding regulation of gas flexibility services

Today the Dutch competition authority (NMa) published a draft regulatory decision regarding the provision of gas flexibility services in the period to 2011 by Gas Transport Services (GTS), the Dutch high pressure gas transmission network operator.  Participants in the gas sector use gas flexibility services to meet predictable and unpredictable variations in gas supply and demand.

In preparing the draft decision, the NMa considered whether GasTerra, a shipper in the Dutch gas market, will hold a dominant position in the market(s) for gas flexibility services after 2008.  Frontier (Europe) carried out a study focusing on the position of GasTerra in the market(s) for gas flexibility services.  NMa today published the final study report.
