Mette Berghen
Mette Berghen (née Alfter) specialises in the area of competition policy. She has worked in this area since 1999.
Mette has worked on a large number of competition cases before the European Commission and the German, Swedish, Dutch and UK competition authorities as well as national courts spanning a wide range of industries and covering the core areas of competition policy. She has extensive experience of advising on merger cases, cartel cases including damages assessment as well as the assessment of market power and abusive conduct.
Mette was named as one of Global Competition Review's "rising stars of economics" in September 2006.
Mette has previously worked for RBB Economics (Brussels) and NERA (Brussels and London). Besides English, Mette speaks German, French and Danish fluently and is also able to work in Swedish and Norwegian. Based in Brussels, Mette provides an important link between Frontier's EU, German and UK competition work.
Mette has an MSc in Economics from Birkbeck College, University of London. She is 31 and lives in Brussels.
