Mobile networks support development of financial service industries
In developing countries, where mobile penetration far outstrips the penetration of traditional banking services, mobile phones could have a crucial role in the further development of financial service industries.
Frontier (London) recently contributed to a paper published by Vodafone, Nokia and Nokia Siemens Networks that considered the potential of m-payment systems, "The Transformational Potential of M-Transactions". In particular, Frontier considered the competition and regulatory issues raised by interoperability between m-transaction systems, and between m- transaction and traditional banking systems.
