Two Frontier economists feature as rising stars in economics

Mette Alfter and David Parker of Frontier (Cologne and London) feature in the cover story, "Young Economists: the rising stars of economics", in the August/September 2006 issue of Global Competition Review (GCR). This survey casts light on the generation of competition economists preparing for the top. Lawyers in The International Who's Who of Competition Lawyers were asked which rising stars of the economics world had impressed them most, while the largest economics consultancies were asked to nominate their stars (who were included if backed up by independent third parties).

According to senior competition lawyers and economists interviewed by GCR, aspiring competition economists need quickly to grasp the main empirical and theoretical issues involved in a case, the ability to apply economics to real world problems, to communicate findings in a comprehensible way and to have excellent client handling skills, making sure that what economists produce on a case fits in with the legal arguments.
