Testing market power in Italian telecoms

Frontier (London) has completed a project assisting Telecom Italia (TI) with the development of its strategy in relation to the new EU telecommunications framework in the fixed calls market. The project involved an analysis of competition in a range of fixed telecommunications market sub-segments, the position of TI in those segments and the production of market analysis reports on each market, that were submitted to the Italian regulatory authority. The project was based on the principles set out in the new EU telecommunications framework, and included an assessment of potential remedies for each of the markets examined. These are the first reports to be submitted to a National Regulatory Authority under the new EU telecommunications framework in continental Europe.
