New bulletins for August 2006

Our latest bulletins are now available to download. They reflect some of the work of our competition and strategy practices, and illustrate some of the techniques that we use to solve real-world problems and help clients to make the right decisions.

Deal or no deal looks at the pros and cons of sale-and-leaseback property deals, and how to understand when and where this strategy makes sense. In markets where customer relationships evolve over time simple snapshot measures of profitability can be misleading.

The theory of evolution looks at the ways in which customer lifetime value models can help. Pull the other one uses real examples to describe how we have helped clients to use root cause analysis to understand the links between the levers that control a business and the outcomes that result.

Turning to competition policy, Try this for size focuses on the issue of European merger remedies and the findings of a study recently published by the Competition Directorate of the European Commission.

In a similar vein, Bundled into touch tackles the subject of conglomerate mergers and looks at some of the lessons from the GE-Honeywell case for the potential new European Commission guidelines.
