Sir Ian Byatt joins as Senior Associate
Sir Ian Byatt, former Director-General of Water Services, is to join Frontier Economics Ltd (London) as a Senior Associate from 1st February, 2001. Sir Ian was Director General of Water Services from 1989 to 2000, and Deputy Chief Economic Adviser to the Treasury from 1978 to 1989. He joined the Government Economic Service in 1967 following a spell as Senior Lecturer at the London School of Economics. He has published widely on economic regulation, taxation and energy. Sir Ian has been appointed by the DETR and the local Government Associations to chair a task force on local government procurement and is a member of the Chief Secretary's panel on public sector productivity. Ian will bring great experience to the company?s worldwide practice in regulatory economics, and as an economist of the highest reputation, will also be a valuable asset in our strategic and competition policy work.
