Dr David Briggs

David is a founder and Director of Frontier Economics (Australia). He has over 10 years' consulting experience and over 20 years' experience as a professional economist, covering a range of subject areas in applied economics including public policy reform and governance arrangements, agricultural and environmental policy, transport, infrastructure reform and regulation, privatisation and competition issues. He has advised in many industry sectors including energy, banking, health, education, water and transport.

David frequently works with major law firms advising clients on competition and regulatory matters and has advised governments and private sector firms undertaking reform.

David has previously held a number of senior positions in State Governments in Australia including Director of Economic Reform at the Victorian Department of Treasury and Finance, and Director of the Microeconomic Reform Branch of the Department of Premier and Cabinet. In these roles he provided policy leadership to the various reform units and advised on general government policy, including the application of National Competition Policy Principles.
