Safeway refused leave to appeal

The High Court of Australia today refused the application by Australian Safeway Stores Pty Ltd to appeal against the finding by the Full Federal Court that Safeway had infringed the monopolisation section of the Australian Trade Practices Act. On a number of occasions, Safeway had deleted from their stores the products of bakers who were supplying cheap bread to independent supermarkets. Frontier (Melbourne) assisted the ACCC with their prosecution of Safeway and gave evidence at the trial.
