The UK Competition Commission proposes that BAA sells three UK airports
The UK Competition Commission (CC) today published the provisional findings of its investigation into BAA’s airports. It has provisionally found that there are competition concerns at all of BAA’s seven UK airports and that the principle cause of the concerns is common ownership.
A consultation is now underway into the CC’s provisional findings and proposed remedies, which include requiring BAA to divest two of its three London airports and either Edinburgh or Glasgow airport. The CC’s final decision is due to be published in the first quarter of 2009.
Frontier (Europe) advises easyJet and Manchester Airport.
