International conference on the future of network regulation in Germany

The German Monopolies Commission has recently published its biannual report which has focussed on competition in network industries. The Commission finds that sector specific regulation in Germany should be extended to the electricity and gas industry and that regulation should be harmonised between sectors. In its analysis the Commission also draws on work and publications by Frontier Economics (London and Cologne). In response to the Commission's verdict the Economics Ministry of Saarland is now sponsoring an international conference on network regulation, at which Frontier (London and Cologne) will outline the UK experience of electricity regulation.
