New Handbook on Utility Management
Energy transmission operation needs address increasing challenges resulting from new EU regulations, regulatory pressures to enhance efficiency and political moves to promote and integrate renewable energies. Christoph Riechmann and Dan Roberts, both Directors in the Frontier (Europe) Energy Practice, outline the issues and offer some approaches to tackling these in their contribution to the new "Handbook on Utility Management" published by Springer.
The Handbook has been edited by Prof. Andreas Bausch of Friedrich Schiller University Jena and Jacobs University Bremen and Burkhard Schwenker, CEO of Roland Berger.
Frontier regularly advises companies and authorities on the management and regulation of network and energy transmission businesses. For example, Frontier has recently advised the German Federal Economics Minsitry (BMWi) on structural options for electricity transmission in Germany. In the UK, Frontier has advised the regulator, Ofgem, on the challenges for network access posed by integrating wind energy into the power system.
