What do we look for?
As we've mentioned elsewhere on this website, we are looking to recruit exceptional economists with a proven ability to solve microeconomic problems and think on their feet. We want people who will support their colleagues and who are willing to take risks, make mistakes and, most importantly, learn from them.
But other than looking for these skills, we also have some standard entry requirements.
Education
For analyst applications, our standard entry requirement is a degree (with an Economics focus) 2:1 or above with a Masters. However, we do accept applications from undergraduates.
For long-term intern applications, you may have finished your undergraduate degree, or you may be enrolled in, or have finished a Masters degree with a strong focus in Economics.
For summer intern applications, you will typically be in your final year studying for an undergraduate in Economics, or be enrolled in a Masters degree. However, while the majority of our intern positions go to finalists, we do also accept applications from second year undergraduates.
Language skills
All applicants must be fluent in English.
Applicants to our Cologne, Madrid or Brussels offices must also be fluent in the local language, as well as English.
Of course, additional language skills, especially European languages such as French, German, Spanish and Dutch, can also be useful for applicants who wish to be based in our London office.
Work experience
Exceptional graduate economists don't always have work experience, so don't worry if this doesn't feature on your CV. It won't count against you.
