Frontier speaks on state aid issues at Dauphine University

Dan Roberts, Director in the energy practice at Frontier Economics, spoke today on the issue of state aid in a discussion held by Le Chaire Gouvernance et Régulation (Governance and Regulation Chair) at Dauphine University.

Dan presented views on the use of state aid guidelines and state aid clearance as a policy instrument. His presentation comes in the light of the promulgation by the European Commission of both state aid guidelines and new legislative proposals in several areas, namely provision of subsidy support to renewable energy generation and provision of capacity payments to generation in order to guarantee security of supply.

Other speakers in the discussion addressed the impact of state aid guidelines on economic growth and competitiveness, and the investor viewpoint on state aid legislation.

Frontier is a member of the Governance and Regulation Chair and regularly advises on state aid issues.
