First market Power Purchase Agreement for solar energy signed in Portugal

Hyperion, a Portuguese firm that develops renewable energy, has today announced that it has signed a 10-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with energy services company Axpo Iberia. This is the first PPA signed in Portugal by a renewable energy provider, and the largest PPA of its kind in the Iberian Peninsula. Frontier advised Hyperion on future power prices in Portugal and Spain, which helped to secure financing from both banks and partners.

Hyperion is developing a solar park of 29 MWp (Megawatt-hour peak) of installed capacity to produce electricity in Portugal. It is the first solar park in Portugal not to receive public subsidies.

Frontier regularly advises clients across Europe on issues to do with energy markets.
