Rachel is a Director specialised in the application of economic thinking and analysis to competition investigations.
She joined Frontier in 2000 having previously spent three years working in the Government Economics Service.
Rachel is experienced across all aspects of competition policy and has led cases falling under EC and UK merger control, UK market investigations, Chapter I and Chapter II of the UK Competition Act 1998 and EC State Aid rules. Rachel advises clients across a broad range of sectors. She has particular experience in merger analysis and has led many clients to successful outcomes, combining credibility and intellectual rigour in the economic arguments with compelling empirical evidence. Two high profile cases in which she led the economic input are Rank’s acquisition of Gala casinos (UK CC 2012/2013) and Live Nation/Ticketmaster (UK CC, 2009). Rachel also recently acted for Expedia in relation to the OFT’s Chapter 1 investigation into online pricing of hotel rooms (UK OFT 2011-2014).
