Ammar Malik

Ammar has worked across all of Frontier’s practice areas, advising corporate and public sector clients on a range of strategic, economic, and regulatory issues.

His recent work has focused on assisting international clients in their energy and public policy challenges, covering topics such as decarbonisation, wholesale electricity markets, and state aid. For example, Ammar has undertaken an economic appraisal of investment projects for an international organisation that incorporates carbon pricing, helping it to identify and mitigate the climate risk associated with its activities. He has also assisted private sector clients in evaluating transaction opportunities in European electricity markets. In the public sector, he has used qualitative and econometric techniques to assist major government departments in evaluating their investments.

Ammar has also widened his experience in regulated industries by working in other sectors such as communications. This includes an assessment of potential policy measures to encourage fibre rollout for network operators in the UK.

Ammar has an MSc in Economics (Distinction) from the University of London (Birkbeck College) and a BA Hons in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (First Class) from the University of Durham.
