James is a Director in Frontier’s Competition practice, where he co-leads the London team’s work on mergers and antitrust investigations.

Since joining Frontier, he has advised a wide range of clients on high-stakes competition investigations, including those related to transactions, alleged abuses of dominance, horizontal agreements, and vertical restraints. His expertise also extends to follow-on damages litigation.


James has substantial experience navigating investigations before the UK Competition and Markets Authority and the European Commission, and has successfully led teams on complex, multidisciplinary cases.

His work often spans a variety of sectors, combining insights from Frontier’s other practice areas to tackle challenges in digital markets, artificial intelligence, and regulated network utilities.


James has significant experience applying competition law to the wholesale financial services sector, advising leading global institutions such as the London Stock Exchange Group, PayPal, HSBC, and JPMorgan Chase on a range of complex matters. His blend of competition law expertise and sector-specific knowledge allows him to provide clear, practical advice tailored to the unique needs of clients navigating fast-evolving and highly regulated markets.
