Michael leads Frontier's finance work in UK network utility sectors such as energy and water, as well as wider infrastructure assets such as airports and renewable generations in the UK and across Europe.
Michael’s areas of expertise include:
- Cost of capital, balance of risk and rewards, financeability and financial model, particularly in price-regulated sectors (in the context of regulatory price controls, business planning and appeals);
- Capital market analysis, in particular investment returns in equity and bond markets;
- Merger and Acquisition transaction support and valuation support for strategic reviews, in the regulated infrastructure sectors; and
- Wider application of finance theory such as economic profitability assessment, interest compounding and discounting in damage estimation for litigation and arbitration cases
Clients he has worked with include regulated companies, investment funds, regulators as well as government departments.
Michael has a PhD in economics from Maastricht University and has taught finance courses at Imperial College Business School London and Queen Mary University of London.
