Lyu combines experience of working with a wealth of stakeholders across different sectors with a fresh outlook on economic challenges.
He has recently advised clients from European governments and the European Commission, on wholesale gas and electricity issues, state aid and decarbonisation. Lyu has also helped GB energy companies and investors respond to upcoming regulatory reforms, and crystallise the implications for their business. In his Competition work, Lyu has advised multinational merging parties, and currently leads a team of economists in a pan-European damages litigation case.
Prior to joining the Energy and Competition practices, Lyu worked in a variety of UK Government Departments, where he was also an assessor of prospective entrants to the Government Economic Service. Lyu has advised ministers on a range of issues in large UK infrastructure, climate change, and transport regulation. He has a track record of bringing together stakeholders across different layers of the public sector, with partners from industry and academia.
